Dinner With Americans

Last night Elena met a woman who went to the hammam for a bath/massage at the same time. Her name is Elizabeth and she was travelling for a week in Morocco with a guy named Joe. The four of us went to Sirocco where we paid 610 for a very nice dinner for 4 with a bottle of wine. They are from North Carolina and she was talking about being a Senate staffer and working on campaigns. I was afraid to ask about it, fearing her to be a rabid Republican, but she eventually said that had gone on a vacation in 2004 because she couldn't stomach being in DC for the inauguration. Whew! She was an Edwards campaigner. And a staffer for Harry Reid back when he was minority whip. Nice. Joe had gotten a pretty bad sunburn and had all that sunburn problems--headaches and fatigue that's hard to describe that you get because your body is using up your resources repairing the damage to your skin. He had a bail out a bit early. He recommended a book called Vagabonding that I'll check out. Also a documentary by a guy who was a producer for NFL Films who quit his job to travel around the world. I don't remember the name of it, but I think that's enough information to google it and find it when I get back.

There was a wandering magician. He had a few good tricks. He did tricks with sponge balls, metal rings, sticks with strings, flying paper money, and cards.
