Flight Paris To Madrid

We headed to Place Clichy and got tickets to Orly Airport. They were €18ish for both tickets. We took the subway to Gare Nord and got on the RER-B. It took us a while to find the platform but we did and got on the train. It looked like it was going to take forever to get there and there were several stops with transfers. But not many people got on and after a while, it skipped a pile of little stations. We got to the station Antony and swiched over to the line that goes to Orly. It makes 2 stops, west and south. Which one? Hmmm.... For some reason, the geniuses who made the trains, decided to only put in one little sign that tells which airline is at which terminal. I squinted to see it across the train and saw we wanted South. We got off and got into line. When we got to our turn, Elena asked for an aisle seat. The guy told us there are no assigned seats. It's just a free-for-all. Or as I learned in French a "sauve-qui-peut". We went to get a panini for me and Elena sat down to eat the treats Malika bought us at this really nice Algerian bakery. I had already eaten mine and tried to tell Elena that they were really bad so she'd give hers to me, but it didn't work and she ate them. I'm not a good liar. Actually she gave me a (thankfully bigger than deserved) bit of the one shaped like a moon covered in powdered sugar. Yummmmmy!

So we went to our gate and waited for the plane to start boarding. There were 4 loading groups SB/SA/A/B. We were group B. They started boarding in Spanish on speakers with horrible acoustics--almost as bad as those fast-food drive-thrus from my youth where they repeat your order to you, and you have no choice but to say "....err...yes...?" Everyone was up there because it was a sauve-qui-peut and the only way to get a good seat is by beating your fellow passenger in a zero-sum game of grab your seat. We got seats in the exit aisle which I thought was good until the flight attendant came and told us we can't use the seat in front of us to store our stuff. I predicted they wouldn't come around to give us food or drinks but Elena thought they would. They came. Elena and I asked for water thinking it would be free. Nope--€2 each. The flight was only 1:40. We got off and gathered our luggage. They had a customs officer watching us, but it was intra-Shengen even though it was international and he didn't do anything other than just stand there. We got out and walked the entire airport following the Metro signs. We asked where the bus station was and got 2 tickets for €2 each. Then we took the subway to the place with with the bus station.
