I am a once and future embedded systems engineer. My career got sidelined by a nasty bout with leukemia. Now I'm trying to re-enter the fun world of embedded software development.

Good post!
Another one is "blesser" = to hurt/injure.
E.g., "God blesse America" = "God hurts America" :)
